Crisis is not unfamiliar to our region
We’ve been there for each other through floods, ice storms—even tornadoes. We’ve also reached far beyond our borders to welcome those in need, and help them build a better life. At United Way East Ontario, we know that when we stand up for one another, we can make a difference.
Rising up in times of need
The world was watching Syria. We formed United for Refugees to bring refugees to Ottawa and help them build a better life.
Tornadoes ripped through our region. We formed After the Storm to address urgent and long-term needs.
The spring thaw and rains caused massive flooding across Eastern Ontario. Through After the Floods, we were there to help.
Recovery after an unexpected community crisis can continue long after the immediate needs are met. Often invisible struggles linger, and new and unexpected challenges can emerge. That’s why United Way East Ontario works rapidly with front-line agencies, municipalities and partners across Prescott-Russell, Ottawa, Lanark County and Renfrew County to help those most in need.
Thanks to our partners and supporters, we ensure communities affected by crisis have the long-term mental health supports they need to heal, that those most vulnerable of isolation are engaged, and that basic needs are met.
