Our efforts are backed by a commitment to 100% local impact. This means funds raised locally are put to work right here in Lanark County, to help those most in need.
Local Presence
With the Ottawa River to the north and the Rideau River to the south, Lanark County spans 3,000 square kilometres of picturesque natural scenery and historically significant towns. Coined the maple syrup capital of Ontario, this area is known for its abundance of maple trees and stunning fall colours—making it a much-loved tourist destination for thousands of visitors each year.
The Lanark County office of United Way East Ontario works with local people and organizations to strengthen the social fabric of our region. Our efforts to create opportunities for people in need include supporting local programs and services that:
- Provide children and youth with the necessary tools to succeed in school and life
- Offer young adults the skills training needed to find employment
- Enable vulnerable seniors to remain engaged in the community
